Once incorporated, your organization can operate like any other business entity. It may not represent to the public that it has 501c3 status. You can raise funds and ask for donations while your appliatin before the IRS is pending. You cannot tell people that their contributions are tax dedcutible until you recieve 501c3 status. Finally, once the IRS grants 501c3 status, it will be retroactive to the date of incorporation of your nonprofit.
