You are far too north to grow fruit-bearing bananas in Sacramento. Bananas fruit out the 2nd year of growth, then the tree dies after sending out pups. You trees will not survive the 1st winter there. The LA area is about as far north as you can go for banana bearing trees. Mine here in Orange County do OK, bear fruit, but the Santa Ana winds shred the leaves. Summers are fine, but fall, winter, and spring, the trees start looking like palms, then the leaves give up the ghost. While the trees never stop growing here, they have a rough time in high winds. Freezes kill them.
