After verifying you are on the most recent version of software, you may optimize the pdf file. When the window appears that asks for a filename, please change the following options before saving the file. At the top right of the window there will be a tab labeled OPTIMIZE. Select OPTIMIZE. In the center of that tab there will be three checkboxes that relate to font embedding. Be sure the 2nd checkbox (“Include only the characters used”) is *unchecked*.
