Complaints and Dispute Resolution How will the Building Commission impact on the current operations of the Building Disputes Tribunal?
The Building Commission will provide a dispute resolution service to workmanship and contractual disputes between providers and consumers of building services and in relation to payment disputes under construction contracts. Dispute resolution in the Building Commission will be innovative and focus on assisting parties to avoid lengthy and more costly forms of traditional dispute resolution. Where issues remain intractable the State Administrative Tribunal will provide tribunal services in place of the current Building Disputes Tribunal.
