Could global warming open new agricultural opportunities?
Tundra warming up would really be a stretch. Chances are this “global warming” is just the upswing of the cyclical temp swings that have been a part of the world since the beginning of time. I wouldn’t count on any huge climate deal, after all about 40 years ago they were claiming global cooling, and an oncoming ice age! But to answer your question, if we get a little warmer it will most definitely lead to new agricultural opportunities. It might not necessarily make much more land available, but it will allow for some crops to be grown a little farther north (or south in the southern hemisphere), and allow people in some areas to grow some longer day varieties of their crops that can yield a little higher. A slight warm up can make opportunities for sure, but realistically what would happen is a slight change allowing for a little more efficiency for a little while.
