It depends whether you want your car to reek of aftershave! Making air fresheners is easy. Mechanically speaking, they are little more than a scrap of cardboard or cloth that has been soaked in something smelly (look at those green tree-shaped ones, for example!). You can make ones that hang, ones that just sit there, even ones that stick on the windows if you don’t mind paying for a sucker cap. When I was a kid, we used to make ones using a ball of stuffed cloth (stuffed with something very light), about the size of a satsuma.
