Could J.J. Redick still morph into a decent NBA player one day?
Before looking to answer the title questions, let us first have a look at why exactly J.J. Redick has found it so tough to make his way in the NBA. After all, only three years ago he was billed as a sure thing, having broken numerous college records he was supposed to bring back a shooters touch to the league. So, what went wrong? Well, first of all, even at College level J.J. Redick was a one dimensional player. While in his last year at college he managed to average 26.8 PPG on 47% shooting (42.1% on threes), he only averaged 2.6 assists and 2.0 rebounds. Numbers which most players can get just by showing up to a game. Now bare in mind that if a player is not capable of providing much besides scoring at college level, he is going to struggle so much more in the NBA. Ok, he’s not an all-rounder like Scottie Pippen.
