Did anyone take the AQA AS Psychology exam today on stress/social psych/abnormality?
I did. I think overall it went fairly well, but there were some not-so-great bits. A question near the start on “what is the name for these experiences?” or something similar..? I put ‘psychosomatic symptoms’, crossed out and changed to ‘diseases of adaptation’ but I don’t have a clue what it really meant. I really liked the 10 marker on physiological stress management, but hated the 12 marker on evaluating why people obey. I could hardly thing of any evaluation points, we hadn’t been taught any! Also didn’t like the 6 marks (3 x 2marks) about methods of studying conformity. I wrote about lab experiments and linked a little bit to Asch, but it seemed like too much of a research methods question. Someone pointed out earlier about Crutchfield having done a different version which would have answer all the questions in that bit, but I totally forgot about that in the exam. Woops. One question I loved though was about the definitions of ideal mental health – I had these memorised so was so
