Nausea is the most common side effect seen in clinical trials for Byetta. It was mild to moderate and went away in a short period of time. Stick with the medication and try to tolerate the nausea. The glycemic control provided by Byetta is excellent for the compliant patient! Of course, need I mention the weight loss? Remember, the nausea is a tolerability issue, NOT a safety issue! Many other drugs have been pulled from the market because they were deemed as unsafe due to bad side effects, like cardiovascular risk. Byetta is a safe drug.
