Did china invade Japan during the Tang and song dynasties?

I don’t think so. The only time China tried to invade Japan was in the Yuan dynasty. But China was ruled by ethnic Mongolians at that time. In other words, Han Chinese never invaded Japan. (PS. But Japan did invade China) In the old days, China mainly dominated others through trade and culture. Most military invasions by China was done during minority rules in the Yuan and Qing dynasties (neither of which were under Han rule). In other words, today’s China is mainly a result of expansions by ethnic minority Chinese rulers.
