Did Daniel Pearl die in vain?
The current tally says yes. The more people awaken to this nightmare and begin to think seriously about it rather than strive with all the mistaken great-heartedness that they can muster for chimeras of understanding, the sooner we can begin to do something about it. I’m not saying we need to get “medieval” on Islam, but we do have to have enough self-respect to say, “No.” Understanding can follow once they understand that we mean things like freedom of speech, and they cannot demand we respect their sensibilities when they have contempt for ours.
