Did Noah send out 2 doves or 1?
Noah sent out a dove and, because it had no place to land, it returned to the ark. Later, he sent out another dove and it never returned. So Noah and his family knew that the bird had found a resting place and that the waters were receding. It is interesting that in cultures all around the world (and on every continent) there are similar stories of a boat of some kind, one family, and the releasing of birds. This shows that the universal flood (which took place when all the continents were one land mass, called Pangeia by geologists) is historical and is embedded in the collective consciousness of mankind.
