She was wrong, and happy about it. Thousands of Black Friday bargain hunters already were in line at BrandsMart USA and the main entrances. By the time the doors opened, lines snaked around several buildings. “We don’t do doorbusters,” Lenberg said, “so there was no real benefit that we were offering to get people to line up at our doors three hours ahead of midnight. But somehow they did it anyways.” After 24 years in the industry, Lenberg said she still does not fully understand the “psychology of the shopper.” But, she added, “It’s always fun to try to figure it out.” Lenberg, 48, isn’t a shopaholic.
