Did Strom Thurmond and Carrie “Tunch” Butler love each other?
Well, we know the sexual relationship between Thurmond and Butler happened more than twenty year before he married his first wife. We don’t know how long Thurmond had continued to see Butler after they had had sex, but we know he had helped pay her way through college and later paid her sums of money in cash or, through a nephew, checks.
