Answer Hi, Paul… No, not all deer ticks carry Lyme disease. There’s really nothing you can do at this point short of going on antibiotics immediately to arrest any effects of this bite, however, I don’t believe that any physician would do that. A couple of points I want to mention to you, though, so that you can be vigilant of any symptoms and be forearmed with knowledge should something happen: 1. You do not necessarily have to get the target rash to have Lyme. Less than 50% of people do. 2. Symptoms can show up days, weeks, months or years after a bite. I will post a symptoms list after this msg. Lyme can come on as psychiatric, neurological, cardiac, arthritic and other types of symptoms. For instance, mine started in my eyes as eye irritation and light-sensitivity and headaches. My husband’s started out as panic attacks and depression. Of course, it all snowballed and took us years to figure it out and had years of treatment. 3. Besides Lyme, there are other organisms transmitted
