Religions are very tricky: Hindus do worship thousands of Gods, but they are all different facets of the same God, if you know what i mean. Hindus believe there is only one true God but that he has split himself to create specific versions of himself, Lakshmi is the Goddess of money, wealth and prosperity, Ganapathy the God to remove all obstacles etc. There are many male and female facets but their name for the one God is Vishnu. Christians believe in God and that Jesus is the only true son of God, some branches believe Jesus is God. Catholics worship Mary also as the mother of the Christ. Muslims believe in Allah who gave his message to Mohammed to create the Koran, Allah is their God. Bhuddists do not believe in a God, but many of their beliefs and rituals border on ‘God’ worship.
