Do Blu-ray discs offer anything besides better quality picture and sound?
Blu-ray discs have much more space on them, so as well as the higher quality film and audio track, there’s also room for more special features and extras. A standard DVD has limited capacity, so to find the special features you normally have to go back to the main menu, or change discs entirely. With High Definition, you can access a much wider range of special features, and often ‘in-screen’ – without interrupting your viewing. Some Blu-ray discs also contain interactive games, which provide online gaming when connected to the internet.
