Do children need to be taught manners and basic etiquette?

Absolutely, children should be taught manners both by example and with consequences. On three occasions, I have had to ask families to leave my restaurant because they can’t control their children. One kid even wandered into my kitchen and started playing with a knife for god sakes. I had to ask them to leave out of respect for the other diners. One time the entire dining room applauded after the family was gone. Is that the way we want our children to be thought of? Is that the way you want them to act as adults? Most kids don’t know how to eat at table because the parents don’t know either. If parents don’t teach these lessons to children then who will. Lead by example first and let your kids know that you expect them to behave properly. If you don’t know what is correct, I am sure there are a lot of people right here an answers that can help.
