Do Christians find the musical Jesus Christ Superstar offensive?
This Christian does not find it particularly offensive. Maybe it was shocking 37 years ago, but there’s been many artistic works that have come since then that are far more questionable and spiritually inflammatory than JCS. It’s my understanding that Jesus Christ Superstar is the story as told from what Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice thinks is the point of view of Judas Iscariot. It’s meant to be entertainment, not a theological statement.
