Do collection agents need to be certified?
While individuals or business entities operating a debt collection business are required to be licensed, as such in many of the states in which they operate, there is no specific license or certification required of an individual employed by collection agency. Even collection agency businesses have few requirements to obtain a license beyond filing the appropriate forms and paying the filing fees.
