Do dolphins actually save peoples lives?

Yes, there actually have been instances of dolphins helping people at sea. Maybe not actually “saving their lives” but showing enough intelligence to assist. They have been known to lead ships out of impenetrable fog and away from rocks until the fog cleared, and they have *definitely* been seen to circle a person in the water, keeping sharks away. They’ve been trained to search for mines (the military kind), divers, and keep harbors safe in general. But the most famous, and most documented, is keeping the sharks away. Do they do it because they actually like people, or is there some other motive? We don’t know.
