I suppose you could argue that there is no scientific fact but I think it is up there with those asking the question “How do you know the world really exists? Is it just your imagination?” You know that if you hold an object up and let go of it, it will fall to the floor. There have been enough experiments done to turn this into a theory about gravity that is accepted as fact. However, some new evidence may arise later that suggests that this theory isn’t totally correct. It happens all the time. Newtons laws were accepted as fact. They explained the motion of everything in the universe. People accepted them to be “true”. There was a fly in the ointment though which was the procession of mercury. There was an error that people could not explain. Einstein’s theory of relativity resolved the problem. It amazes me how some will accept an idea just because it is presented as “scientific” fact.
