Sometimes yes, sometimes no; it just depends on your major. In some majors, none of the Gen Ed courses will double count with required courses. In other majors, 24 Gen Ed credits or more can double count. How do you know which courses will double count in which majors? Start by finding the description of the major in the University Bulletin. Then look under the GENERAL EDUCATION heading. If there are courses in that major that can double count with Gen Ed requirements, there will be a statement similar to the following: (15 of these 45 credits are included in the REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MAJOR) Next, look in the REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MAJOR section.
