Do I need a CASE tool with Uniface?
Uniface, by itself, contains some basic data modeling tools. For other areas generally attributed to CASE tools, you must consider 3rd party tools. For example Uniface will not provide tools for: • Requirements tracking and analysis • Data Flow Diagramming or Business Process modeling • Project management scheduling, resource commitments The Case Tool question most often arises in terms of data modeling, and in relation to the graphical Application Model Editor. With version SIX, Uniface introduced a graphical editor which can display relational data models in a pictorial format so important to conveying structural information to developers. So why do I need a separate data modeling tool? The answer is that you may not.
