Do I need to cut the heads of the superworms? Will they bite my chameleon or eat their way through their stomach?

This is a myth that has never been substantiated. Superworms will not eat a hole through your chameleon. When a chameleon eats insects, they have strong jaws which crush the insect to death before swallowing. The worm will be dead long before it hits your chameleons stomach.
