Do I need to have any subject knowledge in Islamic Studies and/or Arabic before I can join the programme?

No. The first year of the programme is a foundation level and modules are introductory modules. However, students who have studied (formally or informally) any Islamic Studies or Arabic will be at an advantage. The first year Arabic will start from scratch starting with the alphabets and basic vocabulary and basic grammar. Again, students would be at an advantage if they have some prior learning, though it is not essential.
