No. The method that requires patient weight (Cockroft & Gault – C&G) is no longer advised partly because it has been suggested to be less accurate as it was validated against creatinine clearance rather than GFR, but mostly because the equation used by the laboratories (MDRD) requires only the age, sex and ethnicity.
