In many cases, yes, you will need to link your Roku player to a channel you just added. Most often, you need to link because the channel content provider has a service that requires an account (username and password) to use. Linking provides a way for you to approve use of the service on your Roku player without having to sign-in every time you use the channel. Some channels do not require linking. You can use those channels immediately after adding them.
