Do “no risk” first sessions or “free-first” tutorials help tutors get business?

0

We know the effort tutors make to travel to a tutorial is sometimes significant, and that with this policy, they may not get compensated for their travel and time. (TM doesn’t get paid as well!) We only know that the “no-risk” first session works well. Most parents appreciate it. Because the tutor’s fees are often a major factor in a parent’s choosing a particular tutor, the policy helps parents feel more comfortable and receptive to “trying out” a new tutor. Because we offer the policy to all parents, it often opens some doors that otherwise may have stayed shut. It is one way of our saying that our main goal is finding the “right” match for their child and that their satisfaction is highly valued.
