Do the amounts borrowed by a graduate or professional student under the PLUS program count toward the aggregate loan amount borrowed by the student?
PLUS loans currently are not subject to annual or aggregate loan limits. The Department’s Dear Colleague Letter, GEN-06-02, reiterates its intent that, with few exceptions, PLUS loans for graduate and professional students should be made under the same terms and conditions as PLUS loans made to parents. We do not anticipate that the Department will impose annual or aggregate loan limits on PLUS loans made to graduate and professional students.
