They could make you have a bad trip, if you’ve never taken DXM before and don’t know what to expect or how to make the trip good. but you could overdose on them. In fact, if you did, you would die. Easily. So don’t take lots. A maximum of 16.

If your talking about those red pills for cough, cold, and congestion i know of a few people who have takin them to trip and it worked they said, they had to take between 8 or 10 of them to trip because they had done so many other drugs though. So i guess if you did overdose you would have a crazy trip.
