Do white tailed deer grieve upon loss of their young?

However, mother deer and thier babies, especially female babies, are usually extremely close to thier mothers. It is extremely likely that deer do grieve. In the wild, entire elephant herds grieve when they lose one of their own, sometimes even producing tears.
