NOT AT ALL – we are pleased that Germany has the same attitude toward the evils of the far-right as all other countries do, and we NEED them to continue being a role-model and spokesperson and leader in the fight to bring about world peace and friendship

Germany used to be very cautious in being patriotic after the war (due to the war guilt mainly). In recent years, however, flag waving increased dramatically, especially at the football world cup 2006. The guilt is still there I guess, but many Germans are now more open and proud to be German.

I feel personel commited to human rights and values like respect, which forces me to be against any fascistic or any other inhuman acts and thoughts despite of my nationality (Yes, I`m native German), but have to support “Germany`s official attitude” and even wish more consequence. For example, currently is a discussion to correct court decisions against so called “deserters”. Thousends of Germans were “legaly” killed by Nazi-courts, just of the fact, that their personal desission was not to support (and to extend) WW2. These deserters did right and they should get respect, as this perilous decission meant not to support an injustice system. However, base for that such a correction comes into existence is to accept historical facts without any palliation and wrong understanding of “raison d’état”. By the way, I`m pretty much aware, that fascism does not depend on somebodys nationality.

If, as it seems, you are saying that Germany shouldn’t accept its war guilt, it is your attitude I find nauseating. Germany has done as much as any nation can be expected to do to shoulder the blame. Good for them.
