Of course yes. I think it is good idea to invest in such sports. But as I know football is on good level nowadays. Just check budgets of modern popular football clubs like for example Ajaccio football club, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and so on. Also salaries are very high.

It can certainly help soccer. Hockey, however, is on a downturn not just in India but also abroad. In soccer, you have 32 teams playing the World Cup. In hockey just seven or eight teams play the event. Even in those countries the popularity is not as high as it should be.
