Does a 2001 Toyota Corolla need to have the timing belt changed?
NO! Toyota timing belts are good for at least 15 years or more. Don’t waste your money. Also, the shop will screw up your timing by doing a sloppy job and break something else that will show up mysteriously later, giving them another avenue to screw you over. On a Toyota belt, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Toyota timing belts can break without damaging the engine. They are non-interference type. It is just best to drive the car until it breaks, then replace it.
