According to the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection a contractor license is not required for commercial buildings. However, a new home construction contractor license is required for residential buildings. Additionally, trade licensing applies (i.e. plumber, electrician and etc..) Contact the agency: (860) 713-6145 or occprotrades@ct.gov In addition, the local building official must approve the plans and provide a permit.
