Does a reverse osmosis water system require maintenance?
The filters on a reverse osmosis water system must be changed each year to ensure that you have the highest quality drinking water in your home. The central filter, or membrane, should last from two to four years depending upon the quality of the water. The membrane should be checked each year when the system is serviced to see if the membrane should be replaced. It is possible to change the filters yourself. However, there are some important disinfecting and cleaning procedures that must be performed each year when the filters are changed. We recommend that you call Evans Services to schedule an appointment to provide the recommended cleaning and install the filters for you. When filters are installed, we provide “original equipment” filters so your original equipment warranty will continue to be honored.
