Does anyone have ideas of menus & food quantities for a buffet for 150 – 200 people?
For quantities just imagine one plate then times by 175. As for ideas. Go for cold meats, pastries such as quiche and sausage rolls. Have cocktail sausages, cheese straws and those sticks with cheese, pineapple and onions. If you vary them then people who don’t like one particular thing will be happy. Sandwiches and rolls are Ok, but difficult to keep fresh. If you do keep to simple things such as cheese and ham. Have a few bowls of various crisps and perhaps some popcorn. The key is to keep to things that can be picked up with the fingers that way you won’t have to worry about loads of cutlery or mess. Salad is nice but rarely eaten. Use a little as garnish in fancy styles that way if anyone wants some it is available but does not go to waste. Cut a few peppers, carrots, cucumber and celery into strips and serve around a couple of dips for the pickers. For pudding just stick to a few types. Gateux, cheesecake and individual trifles are always popular. Maybe some jellies topped with cr
