This will help determine the seeds that will germinate from those seeds, which hold no promise of producing a healthy bonsai tree. Keep the seeds that sink to the bottom of the container and discard those that float. To sow your bonsai seeds you will need to choose a bonsai pot, which has a depth of 15 cm or 6″ that has a drainage hole. Layer the lowest portion of the pot, in other words about a quarter of the pot’s total volume should contain a soil mixture of akadama and fine gravel which are equal in their proportions. For the topmost layer you will place a mixture of fine akadama clay, potting soil and fine gravel. These should measure in , , and proportions in that order. T
