Does CalArts offer double majors?
Incoming BFA students will have to choose one program in which to major. Upper-division (BFA-3 and 4) candidates who have completed a minimum of one year at CalArts, and MFA candidates are eligible to apply for the Interschool program. Applicants will need to complete an Interschool degree application and receive the approval of the mentor, program heads, deans, and the Provost. Applications are available in the Office of Admissions. The MFA Writing Program does allow for a limited number of incoming graduate students to combine their study of writing with additional studies at one of the other schools at CalArts; those interested in this course of study must apply separately to the MFA Writing Program and to a second graduate program of their choice. It is advised that students contact the admissions counselors for both programs at the beginning of the application process to notify them of their interest in the Interschool program.
