Does Canada restrict the destination of exports?
The Federal Government may restrict the import or export of certain goods under the authority of the Export and Import Permits Act. If the goods are listed on the import control list or area control list, a permit must be acquired before they can be imported or exported. Generally, the importation of items such as weapons, explosives, oil and gas is heavily regulated. The export of high technology and military products is controlled, although most of these goods can be exported to the United States.
