Does certified practice in Reproductive health include pelvic exams & Emergency Contraceptive Pills?
• Pelvic exams and emergency contraception are not included in Certified Practice. • Pelvic Exams fall under Section 6 of the RN regulations as follows: Section 6 – Restricted activities that do not require an order. Section 6 of the Regulation lists restricted activities that are part of general registered nurse practice. These restricted activities do not require an order from another health professional. They do, however, require registered nurses to adhere to standards, limits, and conditions set by CRNBC. For more information please refer to this CRNBC document.
