Does Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) work with RFC 1483 encapsulation?
A. CDP support is introduced in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(8)T. Currently, CDP is only supported on AAL5SNAP RFC 1483 PVCs and only on point-to-point subinterfaces. Multipoint subinterface support is not planned as yet. This is an example that shows CDP on AAL5snap PVCs: Note: Router1 and Router2 are 2 7140 routers that run Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(8)T.
