Does cooking chicken in the microwave kill the salmonella bacteria?

In order to kill salmonella, the temperature of the chicken has to reach 160 degrees inside and out. If you cook the chicken long enough, you will kill all of the bacteria inside. Microwaves cook chicken from the inside out by heating the water molecules inside of the chicken. The downside to this is that the chicken will probably come out a bit rubbery and will probably be pretty dry. Basically, it will work but the chicken will taste pretty terrible by the time it’s fully cooked.
