No. Consumers should have convenient access to detailed nutrition information when they want it while allowing chain food service establishments the flexibility to communicate it in a manner consistent with their guests dining preferences. If a food service establishment determines that displaying detailed nutrition information directly on menus is consistent with their guests dining preferences then they should do it. In fact some restaurants already do so. However, if displaying nutrition information on a menu is not consistent with their guests dining preferences then chain food service establishments should have the flexibility to offer that written information in another convenient manner in the restaurant. Regardless of the manner in which restaurants deem appropriate to provide nutrition information, consumers can best decide what nutrition is important to them if detailed nutrition information is available to them in writing in the restaurants.
