Does DesignMerge, Batch Print, et cetera work with the Quark Vista XT?
A. What the Vista XT does is allow for the placement of image files within QuarkXPress, and then to have filters applied to the images *within QuarkXPress*. The original images are left intact in their disk files. This means that when you spool the document, when it finds an image that is using Vista and has a filter applied to it, that it must apply that filter to the data before sending it on to the print spooler. That could really, really increase processing time. But it does not seem to do anything if images are not using Vista.
