Does kojic acid soap really lighten skin?

No… kojic acid is an excellent skin lightener. Your problem is one of two things.

1. If you have dark patches, using the soap is lightening your whole face so you haven’t changed the contrast between the dark patches and the color you want to achieve. It’s like brightening a whole TV picture instead of just the buildings or just the people. You need a spot treatment to lighten the dark areas. It’s expensive but it makes a pigment gel that you apply only to dark or discolored’ areas.

2. The amount of koic acid in some products isn’t enough to do CRAP. Look for professional brands in a spa or skin care clinic.
