Does Maestro provide any capabilities for shading structures?

Maestro provides a feature called “ambient spherical occlusion”, which shades atoms according to how much it is hidden by other atoms. This feature can be turned on by selecting Enhance depth view in the Atoms tab of the Molecular Representation panel. It is particularly useful for viewing the topology of large structures such as proteins, but is not so useful for small molecules such as ligands.
