Does Nevada recognize/honor any other state issued CCW permits?
In Nevadas 74th Legislative Session (ended June 4, 2007), NRS Chapter 202 was amended to specify that on or before July 1 of each year, the Nevada Department of Public Safety shall: • (1) Examine each states requirements for the issuance of CCW permits and determine whether the requirements of each state are substantially similar to or more stringent than Nevadas requirements; • (2) Determine whether each state has an electronic database which identifies each individual who possesses a valid CCW permit issued by that state and which a Nevada law enforcement officer may access at ALL times; • (3) Prepare a list of states that meet the above requirements and obtain approval from the Nevada Sheriffs & Chiefs Association; • (4) Provide a copy of the prepared list to each law enforcement agency in Nevada; • (5) Upon request, make the list available to the public.
