Does power make people narcissist, or maybe narcissists are looking for power?
This was selected as Best Answer Narcissists are a pest, but thankfully not predominant, in my experience. But they can wreak great damage. They seek power because they feel a need to control others, not to lead them. Companies collapse because their leaders are out for their own personal gain. They have little or no concern about customers, employees, shareholders. You can spot a narcissist by how they think/act, not by what they say/profess. Their image is a facade, to fool you; their false face. Many are so easily taken in by their make-up. Madoff is a perfect example. (By the way, most narcissists are male, who still dominate leadership positions.) Narcissists are self-centered, almost totally lack empathy. They strut like roosters, displaying grandiose tail feathers, shaking their red wattles and comb. They buy into their own image, preening their feathers constantly as they constantly manipulate and deceive. Employees and customers are of no consequence. Rather they are to be con
